The Penny Lane Team

Managing Broker

Scott has been living in Courtenay, BC for over 25 years, beginning his time on the island in Victoria, after moving from his birthplace of Mexico (he speaks fluent Spanish). Scott is licensed in Strata Management, Property Management, and as a Managing Broker. He has successfully worked in the Comox Valley and Campbell River for over 23 years. He also picked up ten years of experience in residential construction in Korea, Israel, and Chile, where he built manufactured homes with a local company that sent him overseas.

Scott has a compassionate interest in his clients’ bottom line and offers unwavering integrity at every stage of Strata and Property management transactions. He is committed to providing transparent and trustworthy service to clients and in all his interactions.

Property and Strata Manager

Nikki joined our team at the beginning of 2022.  After a 25 year career in another field, she was ready for a new challenge, and become a licensed Property Manager.  Nikki looks after a residential portfolio and has just become a licensed Strata Manager. In her off hours she likes to stay active while managing a busy household with her husband; together they care for two active teenage boys, a dog, and a cat.

Strata Manager

Dan was born and raised in BC, grew up in Nanaimo, and moved to Courtenay in 1991. He spent over 25 years in investment management, running his own advisory practice in downtown Courtenay until he retired in 2014. He did some consulting work for several years, then became licenced as a strata manager in 2019 with Bayview Strata Management. After a brief hiatus, he joined Shepherd Strata Management at the beginning of 2024 and is now keen to be a part of the team at Penny Lane.

Currently, Dan resides with his wife on their Union Bay property where they spend much of their time enjoying the outdoors and time on the water with friends and family.

Office Manager

Sherry joined Penny Lane in 2012. This was her first introduction to Property Management and she tells us that she is happy to have joined the team and is enjoying the challenge. Sherry loves meeting new people and for her, a smile can make her day, so she likes to spread hers around as well! Sherry has travelled quite a bit, but feels fortunate to have been born here on Vancouver Island, which she feels is one of the most beautiful places on the earth, making it a wonderful place to enjoy her photography. In her spare time you will find her out and about with her camera around her neck no matter what the weather.   Sherry always looks forward to meeting all our clients and customers!

Licensed Property Manager

After spending the last 25 years in sales and operations management, Jamie is keen to learn the ins and outs of property management and is currently working on his residential property management license. Along with his wife and two children, Jamie landed in the Comox Valley in 2010. After countless hours of coaching and spectating his kids in sports, he will be a familiar face, and can still be found at the local basketball court or soccer field watching a game, or playing on the volleyball court. Jamie loves meeting new people and looks forward to meeting the clients and friends of Penny Lane!

Unlicensed Property Manager

Nicole received her MFA from the University of Guelph in 2007 and then began working as an artist’s assistant and project manager. Through this work she travelled across Canada and Australia building and installing large sculptures, immersive installations, and delicate artworks and she gained building experience assisting on various demolition, renovation, and new build projects.

This work eventually evolved into a career in property management, before moving to the Comox Valley, Nicole worked for the property management group that owned one of the largest sound stage and facilities operators in the world. In this job she gained experience in commercial building management specific to the film industry with a focus on operations and client support.

New to Penny Lane, Nicole is currently working on her residential property management license. In her spare time, she enjoys swimming, hiking with her family, and gardening, when her toddler allows.

Unlicensed Strata Manager

Before finding her stride in strata management, Claire spent time traveling and working in remote locations—from a fishing lodge to a heli-ski lodge—always embracing life on the go. Originally from Calgary, she moved to the Comox Valley six years ago and quickly made it her home. After her travels, Claire was ready to settle into the Valley, put down roots, and build something lasting. Currently a strata management assistant, she is enrolled in the strata management course and plans to take her licensing exam soon. Entering the world of strata management has been an exciting and rewarding journey for her, where she’s enjoyed bringing structure and stability to her work. Claire loves to problem-solve and takes pride in fostering trust and positive connections with clients and colleagues alike.

Administrative Assistant

Lori currently works part-time as our unlicensed Administrative Assistant, providing support to both the Property Managers and  Strata Managers, and can do more work in 4 hours than some can accomplish in a day!  We all appreciate her assistance, and her varied skills and abilities, particularly all things computer related, which the rest of us are not as proficient at.  We were very fortunate that day in 2019 that she walked in to our office, and has never left!

Bookkeeper

Chamya, originally from Sri Lanka, has called the Comox Valley home since 2022. With a Bachelor’s Degree in Banking & Finance: Financial Risk Management from Victoria University in Australia and a Post-Degree Diploma in Accounting from North Island College in Courtenay, Chamya has enjoyed working as a bookkeeper for Strata Management since 2023.

Outside of bookkeeping, Chamya is a dedicated photographer with a passion for capturing the love shared between partners, friends, and families. In her free time, she can be found reading, learning French, or volunteering.
